My brother Dan and his lovely wife Rita tied the knot in early June. All three of us flew up to Albany for a nice a long weekend of celebrating.
Noah did fairly well traveling, but it definitely was not as easy as traveling with a 3-6 month old on the plane. Unfortunately we were stuck at the gate for about half an hour… using up a lot of quality “good behavior time” before we even got off the ground. We were prepared with new toys, favorite toys, books, snacks and milk….but still found ourselves hoping the flight would hurry up and be over. Noah also has a newfound tendency to touch everything in sight. Especially the inner workings of armrests and tray tables that probably haven’t been cleaned in years. He was especially fond of touching his Cheerios to the armrest, and seat back pockets before eating them. Yum. But he also turned on the charm and smiled and clapped for many of our seat neighbors.
Once we got to Albany, Noah got lots of attention from Grandma and Pop and had a blast showing off some of his new skills. The night before the wedding, we hit up City Beer Hall for a fun-filled rehearsal dinner. It was a great chance to catch up with everyone in the wedding before the big day. Even though there was *a little bit* of rain for the big day, everyone took it in stride. Surprisingly Noah was not able to sit still and be silent for the ceremony, so Dave had to take him to the back of the church. A very echo-y church… we could hear him gabbing throughout the ceremony. Dave shuffled Noah back to my parents house to a baby-sitter so that we could enjoy the rest of the reception on our own.
Rita and Danny left no detail to chance. Everything was absolutely perfect and beautiful. The rain even provided a cool backdrop for some unique photos. Congrats guys!
I guess I was too busy having fun to take photos… but here are a couple I managed to piece together from the photographer. (Click on the pics for a better view.) More to come soon I’m sure!
