Wedding Bells!

My brother Dan and his lovely wife Rita tied the knot in early June. All three of us flew up to Albany for a nice a long weekend of celebrating.

Noah did fairly well traveling, but it definitely was not as easy as traveling with a 3-6 month old on the plane.  Unfortunately we were stuck at the gate for about half an hour… using up a lot of quality “good behavior time” before we even got off the ground. We were prepared with new toys, favorite toys, books, snacks and milk….but still found ourselves hoping the flight would hurry up and be over. Noah also has a newfound tendency to touch everything in sight. Especially the inner workings of armrests and tray tables that probably haven’t been cleaned in years. He was especially fond of touching his Cheerios to the armrest, and seat back pockets before eating them. Yum. But he also turned on the charm and smiled and clapped for many of our seat neighbors.

Once we got to Albany, Noah got lots of attention from Grandma and Pop and had a blast showing off some of his new skills. The night before the wedding, we hit up City Beer Hall for a fun-filled rehearsal dinner. It was a great chance to catch up with everyone in the wedding before the big day. Even though there was *a little bit* of rain for the big day, everyone took it in stride. Surprisingly Noah was not able to sit still and be silent for the ceremony, so Dave had to take him to the back of the church. A very echo-y church… we could hear him gabbing throughout the ceremony. Dave shuffled Noah back to my parents house to a baby-sitter so that we could enjoy the rest of the reception on our own.

Rita and Danny left no detail to chance. Everything was absolutely perfect and beautiful. The rain even provided a cool backdrop for some unique photos.  Congrats guys!

I guess I was too busy having fun to take photos… but here are a couple I managed to piece together from the photographer. (Click on the pics for a better view.) More to come soon I’m sure!

Rainy Albany was a beautiful backdrop.

11 Months! (or 11.5)

Slide1Well the timing of this post makes it more like an “11 and a half month update”… but I took the picture at 11 months! Only two weeks until the little guy turns ONE! We have seen a ton of changes in Noah, in just the last two to three weeks. He is saying “lock” for Greylock and “out” for outside. He also babbles dadada, but definitely doesn’t say it with any recognition of Dave. He recognizes and responds to doggie, clap, stick out your tongue, say Hi or Bye, and book. Noah is pulling up to standing on shorter furniture and a small toy box in his room. He is very proud of himself once he gets up there!

We had a good two-month run with no sickness! But all good things must come to an end. Noah is battling the ear infection-teething combo and it is impacting his sleeping and eating. Luckily he still sleeps well at night (although is waking up closer to 5:30 than 7 these days), but his naps are leaving much to be desired. He will inhale any pureed foods but throws all other “finger” foods on the floor… besides cheese. Apparently he can endure some chewing pain for the glorious taste of extra sharp cheddar.

We had a really nice visit with Noah’s Grandma and Grandpa from Michigan a couple of weeks ago. They even took Noah on a “date night” to their favorite Charlotte restaurant…while Dave and I went on our own date to another restaurant! 🙂

In two days we are headed to NY for Uncle Danny and Aunt Rita’s wedding! Can’t wait to see our family and celebrate.

Why so serious Noah? And mess up that hair a little!

Uh Oh! Looks like the photo shoot lasted a little too long for Noah!
