A Weekend Visit From Grandma and Grandpa

My parents took the short drive across I-90 and up to New Hampshire for a weekend visit with their favorite daughter, son-in-law and grandson. (There is currently no competition in any of these categories.) I’m sure the four-hour journey was a welcome break from the 10 and 12 hour trips they are used to making to Virginia and North Carolina. We had a GREAT time showing them the sights and of course eating lobsta.

On Friday afternoon, while Dave was stuck in traffic on his way home from Vermont, I took my parents to beautiful Butternut Farms to pick some fruit and enjoy the scenery.  We woke up early Saturday morning and while my parents watched Noah, Dave and I dressed up as the spandex twins for a beautiful bike ride along the coast. Next on the agenda was a trip to Maine and Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier for lunch and to enjoy the beautiful day. We rounded out the day with Noah’s first brewery tour… What baby doesn’t love a brewery?!

Before my parents left town on Sunday we celebrated our beautiful niece’s dedication at church.

We began the visit with a trip to a local orchard, Butternut Farms. We picked raspberries and apples… and ate quite a few along the way as well!

Noah patiently sat in his stroller as we made our way through the orchard looking for the perfect apples.

Yum!

Three Months Old!

Noah just hit his 3 month birthday on September 15.  He is such a happy baby and we have so much fun as a family of three with Greylock in tow.

This month Noah comes in at 24.5 inches and 11 pounds 3 ounces.  He is actually down an ounce from last month, but we were on a little roller coaster of losing and gaining weight the past week, so we are happy that he is almost up to his previous weight and hope/think/pray that he continues to gain weight.  He’s a bit of a skinny baby, so we are adding formula to his diet in the hopes of him becoming a little chubbier.  Luckily he is happy, healthy and well-hydrated… we just need to make sure he keeps packing on the pounds (or ounces!)

This month he started sleeping through the night, but with his weight loss, the doc suggested we started waking him up for extra feedings. Kind of a bummer for us, but it’s a lot easier than the newborn days when it would take him more than an hour to get back to sleep.  He eats, burps, and sticks his thumb in his mouth and back to sleep it is!  He’s using the pacifier less and less these days now that he has realized he has two permanent pacifiers in his thumbs!

Noah also started daycare this month. He goes three days a week while I get back to work. The first few days were tough for both of us, but he is doing great there and we love the extra attention he gets from his teachers.

Stay tuned for more adventures and thrilling updates on gaining weight! I know our readers on are on the edge of their seats! 🙂

Back to the Berks

Many New Englanders and New Yorkers “summer” in the Berkshires… Dave and I were lucky enough to live there for few years and were married in lovely Lenox, Mass. This past weekend we ventured out to Western Mass for a quick visit and to hit up some of our favorite spots.

First on the schedule was pizza at BabaLouie’s… it did not disappoint. I ate half of my favorite pizza, BBQ Chicken, hold the chicken. 🙂 We had a great time visiting with all of our friends and going on my favorite hike, Ice Glen. Ice Glen was Noah’s third hike, and also the third state he has been hiking in. This kid gets around.

Unimpressed with BabaLouie’s.

Unimpressed by the view apparently.

He’s awake! With our friends Mike and Craig at the top of the fire tower.

Me with Mikayla and Soleil, the “little girls” who we lived next door to. They are so grown up now!

The whole gang at the end of our hike.

Plum Island

We wrapped up Labor Day weekend at Plum Island with the Pilliod family! We enjoyed a fabulous lunch and nice walk on the beach with our friends. Back to work for Dave today and just one more week until I head back to work. Eyk!

Noah taking his first dip in the Atlantic. Can you tell he is not that excited?

Much happier back on dry land.

Snuggled up with his new stuffed cow from Mike and Audrey on the way home.

A family pic from Sunday when we were all wearing blue.

Snoozing with one arm out of the the swaddle… and super-spikey hair.

Mt. Major …aka… Noah’s 2nd Hike

With a beautiful Labor Day weekend ahead of us, we decided to hit up Mount Major, about 45 minutes north of us in New Hampshire. With Noah and Greylock in tow, we set off on a lovely, but strenuous hike. (To clarify, Dave will tell you it was moderate, but I’m sticking with strenuous.) Noah enjoyed a smooth ride to the top in the baby bjorn and got almost as many compliments/comments as Greylock. With Noah riding face forward, Dave got many smiles and “oh, how cute”s from many ladies on the trail. We are pretty sure they were talking to Noah though.

All geared up in the parking lot.

View of Lake Winnipesaukee from the summit.

A beautiful view.
