9 Months

Slide1

Noah’s ninth month was a big one for our family. We had another scare and visit to the emergency room which revealed his Amoxicillin allergy… but on a much happier note, we closed on our house in Charlotte. Dilworth… here we come!

Noah is “this close” to crawling. He gets up on all fours, rocks back and forth, gives us a big smile and then either lays back down or scoots backwards. We even try to temp him forward with the forbidden “toys” … the AppleTV remote or my cell phone.

He continues to gobble up nearly every food we offer him, but we have discovered two things he will pass on, green beans and plain greek yogurt. Avocados, applesauce, pears, banana yogurt, bananas, pears, peas and sweet potatoes are all in the regular rotation and among his favorites. Noah seems to have way too many distractions to focus on nursing anymore, but honestly neither of us seems to miss it. We upped his formula intake and he happily inhales a few bottles a day from either me or Dave.

Rita’s Wedding Shower

Earlier this month we headed over to ALBS to visit with family and celebrate Rita’s wedding shower. We had a lovely brunch with friends and family and a nice visit before we hit the road for Charlotte.

Home Sweet Home

It’s official. We closed on our new house… and are now homeowners once again (or at least we own 20% of it).  Dave has been in Charlotte for a few days taking care of the closing (signing all pages three times: once for him, once for me and once acknowledging the power of attorney…phew!), meeting with the painters and carpet installers, and squeezing in a client meeting in Virginia as well.

We are still in New Hampshire for another week and a half before we pack up and move down to Charlotte. And it will be the last time we pack up an entire house or drive a moving truck for awhile! Thank goodness!

Noah is doing great, but has had a rough run of health luck over the past few weeks. He had a persistent cough and cold so I finally took him to the doctor and they discovered an ear infection and prescribed Amoxicillin. Seven days later Noah woke up covered in hives and was very swollen, in a scary way. A trip to the emergency room and his primary care doctor revealed an allergy to the medication. He started steroids to clear up the rash (and gain baby muscles without the hassle of pumping iron…) and it slowly worked. But his ear infection remained AND he popped a new tooth in the middle of all this. We are finally on our last day of the new antibiotic and I think the tooth has cleared the surface. I think we may actually have a few healthy days (dare I say weeks?!) in front of us!

I can’t bear to post the picture with the hives… it is too sad. Trust me, it was bad.
